Vice President, Employee Relations & People Operations

The Vice President, Employee Relations & People Operations is a senior HR leader who serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and executive leadership. This role provides enterprise-level leadership across employee relations, people operations, workforce analytics, organizational effectiveness, and strategic HR initiatives.

The position is responsible for translating workforce data and organizational needs into actionable insights and solutions. The VP leads complex, cross-functional initiatives, supports organizational transformation, strengthens HR processes and governance, and provides executive leadership with analysis, recommendations, and clear communication on key people-related priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership & Projects

  • Lead enterprise-wide HR initiatives and strategic projects from planning through implementation.
  • Establish project plans, timelines, milestones, and accountability measures to ensure successful execution.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, summaries, reports, and recommendations from complex information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, governance, service delivery, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop frameworks, tools, and processes that promote accountability, consistency, and collaboration across HR and business functions.
Workforce Analytics & Insights
  • Analyze workforce metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, productivity, engagement, safety, and other key indicators.
  • Identify trends, workforce risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and utilize dashboards and reporting tools to support workforce planning and executive decision-making.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, HR Technology, Finance, and other functional teams to ensure workforce data is accurate, consistent, and effectively utilized.
  • Use data and analytics to support organizational and employee-related decisions.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex employee relations matters and organizational issues.
  • Ensure HR practices and processes align with applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Partner with HR leadership and Legal to assess risk and develop appropriate solutions to employee and workplace issues.
Organizational Transformation & Change Management
  • Lead or coordinate HR initiatives associated with organizational restructuring, workforce changes, capability development, and other transformation efforts.
  • Facilitate collaboration among HR, Legal, IT, Finance, and business leadership during organizational transitions.
  • Partner with HR Technology and business HR teams on the implementation and adoption of new systems, processes, and employee service capabilities.
Executive & CHRO Support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CHRO and senior leadership.
  • Help prioritize strategic HR initiatives and coordinate progress against organizational objectives.
  • Monitor key initiatives, identify potential challenges, and escalate issues with recommended solutions.
  • Prepare materials and presentations for executive leadership meetings, governance committees, and other leadership forums.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with HR leaders, business executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as a connector between HR, business operations, and executive leadership to promote alignment and accountability.
  • Develop clear and effective communications related to organizational initiatives, HR programs, and strategic priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources, employee relations, people operations, consulting, project management, organizational strategy, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and employment law compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, enterprise-wide or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into business actions.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, and occasionally ambiguous environment.


Work Environment
This position may be structured as a hybrid role, with a combination of remote and in-office work. Regular on-site presence may be required based on business needs, leadership meetings, and organizational priorities.
