Tax Strategist
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Tax Strategist to lead tax advisory services. This key leadership role involves developing and implementing advanced tax strategies, advising individuals and corporate clients, and guiding our team through complex regulatory environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to drive growth and excellence within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive tax planning strategies for individual and business clients to optimize financial outcomes.

Provide expert guidance on federal, state, and local tax laws, staying current with regulatory changes and analyzing their impact.

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Oversee the review of complex tax returns and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.

Represent the firm and clients before tax authorities during audits, appeals, or legal proceedings as necessary.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Identify new business opportunities and participate in growth initiatives.

Collaborate with other leadership to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.

Ensure operational excellence by establishing policies, procedures, and quality standards in tax services.

Participate in professional speaking engagements, contribute to industry publications, and engage with relevant organizations to enhance the firm’s reputation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or JD preferred.

Active CPA license or equivalent professional certification.

Minimum of 15 years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting or corporate tax departments.

Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Proven expertise in tax planning, research, and strategy development for individuals and businesses.

Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Experience with tax software and technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods, such as tax season.
- Familiarity with international tax laws and regulations preferred.
