Staff Accountant

Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial operations within a manufacturing or process-driven environment, with a focus on inventory, production costing, and operational accounting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with operations teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory balances and production-related accounts
  • Track and analyze production yields, shrink, and operational variances
  • Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and standard cost updates
  • Partner with operations teams to validate production data and inputs
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis
  • Support accounting for hedging instruments and related reporting, if applicable
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Track capital expenditures and assist with project capitalization
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or agriculture industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within manufacturing, agribusiness, commodity-based, or process industries
  • Exposure to hedge accounting or derivatives
