Special Events Manager

Job Summary: The Special Events Manager leads the planning and execution of a portfolio of revenue-generating and stewardship events. This role works closely with internal teams and volunteers to deliver impactful events that align with organizational fundraising goals, while managing all aspects of event strategy, logistics, sponsorships, and post-event analysis.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute event strategies in collaboration with the development team to support fundraising objectives.
  • Secure sponsorships and in-kind donations through direct outreach and relationship management.
  • Manage logistics and operations for events, including coordination with vendors, venues, volunteers, and internal teams.
  • Oversee event contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Plan and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution and adherence to financial goals.
  • Partner with marketing and communications to develop promotional materials and outreach strategies.
  • Utilize data and post-event reporting to evaluate outcomes and inform future planning.
  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in special events planning.
  • 4+ years of experience in fundraising with a focus on corporate sponsorships preferred.
  • Proficiency in online auction platforms and event planning technologies.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant fundraising or project management software.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results.
