Senior Accountant

Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will support a scalable, well-controlled close and reporting environment by performing monthly close activities, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. This role partners closely with accounting leadership to strengthen internal controls, reduce key-person risk, and ensure audit-ready financial reporting across multiple entities. The position supports complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, lease accounting, intercompany accounting, and tax compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries and completion of balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
  • Analyze and document significant period-over-period variances with clear, well-supported explanations
  • Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
  • Support lease accounting under ASC 842, including lease schedules, monthly entries, reassessments, modifications, and disclosure support
  • Execute and document SOX controls related to revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
  • Support management review controls by preparing revenue analyses, variance explanations, and audit-ready documentation
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure revenue-related activity is accurately recorded and properly supported
  • Review and validate recurring intercompany and transfer-pricing charges in accordance with documented agreements
  • Analyze intercompany balances and coordinate settlements and cash transfers
  • Support global tax compliance by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and meeting statutory filing deadlines
  • Participate in ad hoc accounting projects, research, and process improvement initiatives
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of U.S. GAAP
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition, lease accounting, intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, tax compliance, capitalized software costs, and foreign currency transactions
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system preferred

  • Demonstrated technical accounting expertise in a multi-entity environment
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced close cycle with tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and SOX compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial results to stakeholders
