Senior Accountant
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting both financial and external reporting functions. This role plays a key part in month-end close activities, account analysis, and the preparation and coordination of compliance and regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform account analysis and assist with financial statement preparation and review.

Support month-end close processes, including complex journal entries and analytical review.

Prepare and coordinate external filings, including financial statements, disclosures, and supplemental information for regulatory agencies.

Assist in the preparation of financial statement footnote disclosures.

Contribute to the preparation of compliance reports and forms

Provide financial data and analysis for management presentations and special projects.

Monitor and apply updates to US GAAP, SEC, and other regulatory standards.

Support internal and external audit processes.
- Execute ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required

CPA certification preferred (or actively pursuing)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or financial reporting experience

Experience in utility or regulatory accounting (e.g., FERC) strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of US GAAP

Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, HFM) strongly preferred

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
