Senior Accountant
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This position includes maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, managing cash flow and accounts payable/receivable, and supporting higher management with audits, budgeting, and tax compliance.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various projects and operations.

Monitor the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, job costing, and other accounting systems.

Assist in preparing financial presentations for senior management.

Oversee daily cash management for the division.

Manage processing of invoices, subcontractor payments, and vendor relationships.

Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and payment applications from contractors and suppliers.

Ensure timely collection of receivables and monitor aging reports.

Maintain job cost accounting for ongoing projects.

Track project costs, budgets, and profitability.

Collaborate with project managers to ensure cost controls and budget adherence.

Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for employees.

Maintain payroll tax records and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws.

Assist in developing and managing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

Track budget variances and provide support in budget-to-actual analysis.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.

Assist in the development and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures.

Support external auditors during audits and reviews.

Prepare and file state and federal tax returns, including sales and use tax, payroll taxes, and property taxes.

Support the implementation and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.

5+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a relevant industry.

Strong knowledge of job costing and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.

Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.

Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
-
Occasional travel to project sites as needed.
