Controller 

Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining a robust system of internal controls. This role involves the timely production of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, as well as managing risk and supporting strategic initiatives. The Controller will work closely with the CFO and other leadership to implement new systems that enhance financial processes and support the organization's long-term goals.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the accounting department, including staff supervision and development
  • Oversee the month-end close process and financial reporting, including account reconciliation and analysis
  • Research and resolve complex accounting issues as they arise
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures for key areas such as inventory and cash/credit management
  • Respond to inquiries and audits from regulatory agencies related to financial data
  • Prepare supporting documentation for external accountants during tax return preparation
  • Play a key role in the implementation of a new lean AR/AP accounting system
  • Contribute to the evaluation and integration of additional software systems to improve financial efficiency and reporting
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required 
  • CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in public/private accounting
  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools (preferred)
