Assistant Controller with CPA 

Position Summary: The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing and processing a wide variety of financial documents, including vendor invoices, tax payments, utility bills, and other expense reports. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple retail locations and company assets. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in general ledger accounting, month-end closings, and financial reporting, as well as strong proficiency in Excel and SharePoint. This position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and may assist on special financial projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and process all accounting transactions for the organization.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile and maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and external audit reports.
  • Prepare and manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Cross-verify audit reports with vendor invoices to ensure accuracy across locations.
  • Audit financial transactions and documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and organizational financial regulations.
  • Generate financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and other periodic summaries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Participate in internal and external audit processes.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA certification required. 
  • Proven expertise in general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial analysis.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and experience using SharePoint.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience collaborating directly with executive-level leadership.
