Accounting Consultant
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant with a strong background in accounts payable to oversee expenditure processes, optimize vendor relationships, and support financial compliance initiatives. This role involves managing the end-to-end accounts payable functions, overseeing staff, administering procurement card programs, and ensuring adherence to financial regulations such as 1099 reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management: Oversee and manage the accounts payable process.

Team Supervision: Direct and support accounts payable staff by prioritizing workflow, ensuring deadlines are met, and maximizing cost savings through early payment discounts and efficient issue resolution.

Vendor Relationship & Contract Oversight: Administer contracts with invoice processing vendors and maintain high standards of vendor satisfaction through timely issue resolution.

Vendor Master File Maintenance: Manage and update the vendor master database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.

Procurement Card Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the P-card and Commercial Card programs, ensuring proper use, compliance, and reconciliation.

1099 Reporting Compliance: Prepare and issue vendor 1099s post-year-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRS guidelines.

EHS Compliance Leadership: Promote a culture of safety and compliance by holding team members accountable to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and practices, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in an accounting environment.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and electronic invoicing platforms.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and team development abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
