Accounting Analyst

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying trends, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and providing actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuations, and production variances
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Partner with operations, purchasing, and production teams to improve financial performance and cost controls
  • Identify process improvements and opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency
  • Assist with capital expenditure analysis, special projects, and ad hoc reporting
 
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of accounting, financial analysis, or manufacturing accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
